Holistic Healing

If you're frustrated that traditional medicine ins't working effectively, pharmaceuticals are causing side effects, and you're not feeling better - know there are alternatives.

This isn't for everyone and I totally get that. There are people near and dear to me who need to be on medications for their mental health and other conditions.

After completing aggressive treatment for my cancer and experiencing all the side effects I decided I wanted to pursue a more holistic approach to my health going forward. After treatment I was prescribed Anastrazole for 4 years. This drug lowers estrogen levels in estrogen positive breast cancers. I took it for 8 months and the side effects were horrible joint pain. I stopped after roughly 8 months, the pain was too much and it was then I decided to pursue other options to pharmaceuticals.

This was also at the time I was introduced to electrolyzed reduced water. I starting drinking this water September 2020 and I truly feel this was the catalyst for all that followed. I believe that many illnesses are the result of dehydration.

I had been on anti-depressants for 25 years as treatment for postpartum depression and then situational depression. These were no longer impacting my mental health and I felt it was time for me to begin weaning off of them - they were no longer needed for me personally.

I had elevated cholesterol and was put on a statin medication for a short period. Again, a pharmaceutical I didn't want to take. So I pursued other alternatives which are working for me.

I was told I could have surgery to remove a painful ganglion cyst on my left wrist (my dominant had). Instead I pursued acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine and it worked.

If you're looking for ways to heal holistically here is what I learned:

  • treating the root cause is more effective than treating the symptoms

  • finding a naturopathic doctor is key

  • word of mouth and testimonials are a great way to find trusted resources

  • having a physician who understands your preference for holistic choices is a bonus

  • many drugstore supplements are poor quality

  • alternative tests are available

  • you can ask your GP for specific bloodwork based on your naturopathic doctor's recommendations

I've healed the following with complimentary alternative treatments:

  • after effects of chemotherapy and radiation - CoQ10, modified citrus pectin, selenium, ultra gamma E complex

  • ganglion cyst with castor oil packs, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine

  • elevated cholesterol with dietary changes, exercise, and supplements (omega and plant sterols)

  • elbow bursitis with anti-inflammatory smoothies (send me a message for the recipe), lymphatic drainage massage, and essential oils

  • depression - weaning off prescription medication with supplements such as wild omega, reishi, and ashwaganda

  • weight loss with dietary changes, exercise and drinking electrolyzed water

It's incredible how our bodies have the innate ability to heal themselves when we address the root cause of illness instead of simply treating the symptoms.
